Ankle Pain

If you experience ankle pain during everyday movements such as walking or long periods of standing, or have difficulty putting weight on it, don’t fret! Physical therapy at our  Bronxville, NY and Mamaroneck, NY offices are here to help you relieve that lingering pain by finding the root cause, and teaching you how to take preventative action so the pain no longer interferes with your daily life.  Whether it’s pain, weakness, or mobility limitations, our team will set up a personalized plan tailored to your needs to get you back on your feet and keep you there!

While ankle disorders are most commonly caused by injuries, such as rolling, twisting, or spraining your ankle, they can also have a gradual onset from repetitive movements or abnormal gait patterns. Injuries such as these can cause swelling, loss of mobility, difficulty to bear weight, and so forth. If left untreated, these seemingly minor injuries can lead to chronic pain and impair your ability to even do daily activities.  Other causes of ankle pain are:

Arthritis

Tendonitis or tears

Fractures

Previous injuries that did not heal properly
