A Journey From Athlete to Movement Specialist

My curiosity into the world of human movement and performance began as a high school athlete. As a young athlete I was eager to perform well in hopes of pursuing a college career in football. Unfortunately, I was riddled with injuries and was left constantly asking why I couldn’t get healthy to perform at the level I knew I was capable of. Fortunately, this led me to trade in my hopes of playing college football for pursuing my passion of learning as much as I could about the human body and our movement system.

I began my career as a Certified Athletic Trainer providing sideline medical coverage for various sporting teams in the New York City area from adolescent sports to managing professional athletes. I spent four years as an athletic trainer working on the field for a variety of sports but still yearned for more to give my patients the care they deserved. It was in my graduate coursework for Physical Therapy that I knew I was where I should be. While in PT school I worked as an Athletic Trainer for insurance based clinics, private 1 on 1 clinics and everything between.

The complexity of the human body requires a clinician with the time, depth and breadth of knowledge to help create a solution WITH the person sitting in front of them. The current medical system does not always allow the practitioner to exercise their full potential in creating the optimal healing environment for the patient.

To bypass the current limitations of an insurance based system and evaluate who’s in front of me as a person first and a patient second, I created Prime Physio. A physical therapy experience that fosters a healing environment for the patient to access and receive all that I can offer.

The Vision Behind Prime Physio

The human body's complexity demands more than a standard approach. It requires a therapist with both the time and expertise to develop solutions collaboratively with each patient. Recognizing that the traditional medical system often limits this potential, I founded Prime Physio with a clear mission: to create an environment where comprehensive, personalized physical therapy could flourish.

At Prime Physio, we've intentionally stepped outside the constraints of insurance-based care. This allows us to see you as a person first and a patient second, providing the thorough, focused attention you deserve. Here, every treatment plan is crafted with your specific needs in mind, ensuring you receive the full benefit of our expertise and dedicated care.

Physical Therapy FAQs
Prime Physio Bronxville & Mamaroneck NY

Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?

In New York State, you can see a physical therapist directly without a prescription through direct access. However, some insurance companies may require a prescription for reimbursement. We're happy to discuss your specific situation during your initial consultation.

How should I prepare for my first appointment?

Come ready to share your health history and current concerns. Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement and access to the area needing treatment. If you have any relevant medical records or imaging reports, feel free to bring them. Most importantly, arrive ready to take an active role in your recovery journey.

What should I wear to my sessions?

Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. Athletic wear like shorts, t-shirts, or leggings works well. For upper body work, consider wearing a tank top or loose shirt. For lower body concerns, shorts or loose pants that can be rolled up are ideal.

How often will I need to come?

Treatment frequency is tailored to your specific needs, goals, and condition. After your comprehensive initial evaluation, we'll create a personalized plan that outlines recommended session frequency. Our goal is to help you return to your prime as efficiently as possible while ensuring lasting results.

Can I schedule appointments at both locations?

Yes! You can schedule appointments at either our Bronxville or Mamaroneck location based on your convenience. Both locations offer the same high-quality, one-on-one care with Dr. Recine.

How do I know if physical therapy is right for me?

If you're experiencing pain, movement limitations, or aren't performing at your desired level, physical therapy can likely help. Our comprehensive approach is particularly effective for those seeking lasting solutions rather than quick fixes. During your initial consultation, we'll thoroughly assess your condition and discuss whether our approach aligns with your goals.

How long are the treatment sessions?

Each session is a full 60 minutes of dedicated, one-on-one treatment time. This allows us to provide thorough care and ensure real progress each visit.

Do you accept insurance?

Prime Physio operates outside the insurance system to provide you with the highest quality care without restrictions. This allows us to spend more time with each patient and create truly personalized treatment plans. We can provide you with documentation to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.

What types of conditions do you treat?

We specialize in treating a wide range of conditions including TMJ pain, chronic pain, sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and general musculoskeletal issues. Our comprehensive approach looks at how your entire body works together to address the root cause of your pain.
